Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS)

Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS), formerly Chinese Scholars of Political Science and International Studies, is a non-profit, non-political organization for scholarly and professional activities. ACPS was founded in 1986 in the United States to promote academic exchange among Chinese scholars and American scholars of China studies. In 1995, the organization changed its name to Association of Chinese Political Studies to allow non-ethnic Chinese to become members so that the organization is for all who study Chinese politics. Currently the organization has over 300 members from various parts of the world. Eighty percent of them are male and 20% of them are female.

Association of Chinese Professors in Social Sciences (ACPSS)
The Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences in the United States (ACPSS) was founded in June 1995 by a group of Chinese professors and researchers of social sciences and humanities residing in North America. ACPSS currently has more than 300 registered members most of whom hold Ph.D. degrees and are working in academic and research institutions. The advisory committee of ACPSS is formed by internationally renowned scholars. APSS has its official journal American Review of China Studies and publishes peer-reviewed research papers bi-annually.

A loosely organized world-wide professional community, the Global Forum of Chinese Political Scientists was founded in 1999 in response to the greater need for understanding of the rise of China. Its establishment was a manifestation of scholarly achievements by Chinese political scientists around the globe.
