Target Audience

All books in this series will be published in English or Chinese and marketed globally.

It is envisaged that this series will become an indispensable source of reference for scholars, researchers, research centres and think tanks interested in developments in China and views on China from the Chinese diaspora.


This series will publish original scholarly work undertaken by professionals and academics based outside mainland China. We will accept both monographs and edited volumes in the social sciences on topics related to China. Each title in this series will offer a new perspective or new research.

We welcome book proposals especially in the following areas:

• Literature and the arts

Submission Procedure

We envisage publishing 5–10 titles a year. All manuscripts must be original and will be peer reviewed. If you have an idea or a manuscript for a book suitable for the China Studies: International Outlook series, please contact one of the series editors:
